University of Edinburgh

Are you going to be heading off to uni soon? If so, then you’re going to need to get yourself a checklist that you can go through, ensuring that you’ve got everything that you need. If you’re not sure what kind of things to include on this list, then it’s a good thing that you’ve come across this article as we do. Keep reading down below if you would like to find out more.

Get Ready For Your Accommodation

First, we recommend that you take the time to get ready for the accommodation that you’re going to be staying in. If you’re going to be staying in halls then you’re going to need things like duvet covers, pillow covers, a lamp in some cases, and your creature comforts that remind you of home. As well as this you’re going to need crockery and cooking equipment, cleaning supplies, and so much more.

Find out what is already in your accommodation so that you can come up with a list of what you still need to get. Make sure that everything you need comes with you, and that any last minute bits you can purchase when you get there.

Apply For The Finance You Need

It’s also important that before you start uni you are applying for the finance that you need. This will do you a world of good as it means that you will have all of your financial worries sorted before you even set foot on the campus. It’s also a fantastic idea in case you need to go through a dsa needs assessment for example before you can receive any kind of special funding.

Make Sure To Get Those Supplies

Next, you should ensure that you are getting the right supplies for uni. These range from books and pens to the right computer. Making the right choices means completing the full amount of research. Don’t forget, you can get a lot of supplies second hand and avoid unnecessary extra expenses.

Mentally Prepare

Finally, you should be mentally prepared for the challenges of university. It’s important to understand that this is a brand new chapter of your life. While that is undeniably exciting, it also means that you face fresh challenges. Handling these will require you to have the right mindset and ensure that the stress doesn’t get the better of you. It’s important to find ways to stay calm, even as the deadlines and pressure continue to mount. You can do this through sports or perhaps breathing exercises. It’s just about finding the option that works best for you.

Hopefully you have found this article helpful, and now see some of the things that you’re going to need to get sorted asap if you’re heading off to uni soon! It’s going to be such a wonderful experience, you’ve just gotta make sure that you have everything ready to go. The last thing that you need is to get there, only to realise that you have either forgotten something entirely, or left something behind.
