PM Today Webinar: PMO Resource Management In A World Of Skills Shortages

Research by Gartner amongst others shows that skills shortages in the workforce are becoming critical for PMOs. Demand for new skills is outstripping supply, hiring has been widely frozen due to the pandemic, and 58% of workers require urgent reskilling or upskilling to properly fulfil their roles.

That’s a real puzzle when it comes to resourcing the project and portfolio pipeline, so how can PMOs responsible for delivering the portfolio overcome the challenge?

PM Today’s Associate Editor, Amy Hatton, will be hosting a new thought leadership webinar this Wednesday (30th June), with guest speakers Sean Pales and Greg Bailey, of Gartner’s “Cool Vendor of the Year” ProSymmetry.

PM Today readers are invited to join this webinar which will explore:

  • How to properly resource the strategic portfolio with the right skills and the right people to deliver more, better, and faster.
  • Emerging data and thought leadership on skills shortages and what that means for your portfolio and pipeline.
  • The power of effective capacity planning and real-time “what-if?” modelling to increase adaptivity and agility.
  • The five competency steps that you can take to reach the goal of effortless resource management.
  • Practical examples of exactly how to do it!

We spoke to Amy today to find out how preparations are going. “I work with a lot of organisations in the technology space, so this market doesn’t hold many surprises for me,” she said.

“However, I find ProSymmetry’s twenty-first century approach to Enterprise Resource Management fascinating. It goes far beyond treating human resources as simple commodities. Sean and Greg have a wealth of knowledge around managing resources as the people they are – with their own unique skills sets, motivations and value-adding capabilities.

“By harnessing and deploying this kind of intelligence, the PMO is not only equipped to eliminate roadblocks by deploying the right people into the right teams at the right time, it is also geared up to ensure employee engagement, satisfaction, professional development and retention. These are factors that will be vitally important in establishing sustainable and profitable ventures in a volatile and unpredictable world.”

Spaces for this webinar are filling up fast, so delegates are encouraged to register now to secure their place. The audience will also have the chance to ask Sean and Greg about pain points, challenges and opportunities in the tricky area of resource management moving forwards.
