North Cumbria University Hospitals Trust & Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust claimed Overall Project of the Year Award for its new maternity information system, BadgerNet electronic personal health records (ePHR).
The APM Awards recognise individuals, projects and programmes through the lens of the project management profession, from aspiring young project managers to complex and transformational projects and programmes, both in the UK and internationally.
This year saw a record number of entries submitted to the Awards, reflecting the growing recognition of the project profession.
Nineteen awards were handed out at the London ceremony across a wide range of categories, including two new awards: The Innovation in Projects Award and the Contribution to the Profession Award (which consists of three sub categories – Company, Consultancy and Not-for-Profit/Charity).
The winning project, the implementation of the BadgerNet ePHR system, replaced outdated processes at the Trusts. The new electrical records mean that women registering their pregnancy in Cumbria are now some of the first in the country to have access to electronic maternity notes via an app.
Julie Haigh, Digital Midwife at North Cumbria University Hospitals Trust & Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This is just phenomenal. This is for the project management team, the pinnacle of everything we’ve done.”
Debbie Dore, chief executive of APM said: “This year we received a record number of entries, and the standard is getting higher each year. The award winners are a true reflection of the talent within the project profession and how much it has grown in recent years. I would like to congratulate the winners and finalists from each of the categories for their incredible achievements.”
