Kromek, a leading developer of radiation and bio-detection technologies, has been awarded a £2 million contract by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) to supply nuclear radiation detectors and related products.
This significant deal, secured after a competitive tender process, will be fulfilled within Kromek’s current financial year, ending on April 30, 2025.
The contract will see Kromek provide its cutting-edge D5 RIID, a highly sensitive handheld detector designed to identify gamma and neutron radiation, along with the newly launched Alpha Beta probe attachment.
This versatile addition, introduced in November 2023, enhances the D5 RIID’s capabilities, enabling it to detect alpha and beta radiation in addition to gamma and neutron sources, making it one of the most adaptable handheld devices on the market for detecting all types of radioactive materials.
