5 Things You Should Look For In A Company Car

cars

Your business is small… but that doesn’t mean that you intend for it to stay small. As you slowly ensconce yourself firmly within the local market, you’re already building an infrastructure that will help your business to grow.

You’re engaging new customers while incentivising your faithful regulars to keep coming back. You’re training and empowering your staff to be able to deliver a consistently excellent standard of service. And you’re slowly building a digital and physical infrastructure that will support and sustain your growth

You have your sights set on the national stage. And that may well mean sending members of your team out on the road. Which, in turn, means ensuring that they have a company vehicle. But with so many to choose from, how do you know you’ve found the right car for your business and your fleet? While we’d hate to limit you to specific models and manufacturers, we do have some useful tips on finding the perfect company car…

Flexible and affordable leasing options

Before we get into car features, finding the right Car Leasing Deals is just as affordable as the right car. While the car itself is an important consideration, the wrong deal can lumber you with greater expense and a longer commitment. Make sure you have a deal that will give you sufficient mileage for your intended operations. Be wary of contracts longer than 48 months, and ensure that the lease costs won’t create any problems with your carefully balanced cash flow.

Low emissions

Where possible, you should look for an eco-friendly vehicle with lower emissions. Not only will this be good for your green credibility and sense of Corporate Social Responsibility, it can also mean saving money. The higher the emissions, the more tax you’ll be expected to pay out.

Should you go electric?

Speaking of low emissions, you might be considering going electric with your next company car. Up until 2020, electric cars have been taxed at at 16% for BiK use. However, in 2020 and 2021 there is no Benefit in Kind payment for all-electric emissions-free vehicles.

While this understandably makes their use more appealing, spare a thought for the practicalities before you commit. Will you be able to realistically use a plug-in charger if you don’t have off-road parking? What about your team?

Is diesel dead?

You may assume that due to the high taxation on diesel vehicles (oh, how times have changed!) that these aren’t a viable option. However, if you are likely to be covering a lot of miles in your diesel car, it may still prive the most cost-effective option in the long term. Just make sure you have a leasing plan that covers the mileage!

Look for a car that’s built for business

There are an increasing number of models that are built for business drivers in mind, and as such make it easier to travel long distances in style, safety and comfort. Take a look at the Vauxhall Astra ‘Tech line’ range, for example. It includes a sat-nav with an 8.0-inch screen making navigating to new destinations easier. It also has a leather steering wheel and a front armrest as standard.
